1. If I am applying for a travel grant, do I have to pay to register?

Yes. If you register for the FEBS-IUBMB-ENABLE conference and plan on applying to a travel grant, you have to make the payment until you are informed whether you have obtained a travel. If you de-register before the 30th of September, you will receive the whole sum back after the conference ends.

2. When will I receive the certificate of attendance to the conference?

The Scientific and Local Organising Committees will send out the certificates of attendance after the conference ends. Please check regularly your emails for this, so that you don’t miss out on the certificate.

3. I got accepted as a participant, and I am coming to Cologne in November! How do I find accommodation?
The FEBS-IUBMB-ENABLE conference does not offer accommodation. However, we can offer some tips and tricks for finding a cozy spot for the length of the conference. The first tip is to book a place as soon as possible. The Carnival is celebrated during that time in Cologne, as well as its world-famous Christmas markets, which start on the 17th of November and attracts lots of visitors. Therefore, it will be tricky to find accommodation if you don’t hurry. 4. I got invited for a poster presentation! Are there any guidelines that I need to follow?

Yes, our poster boards will be in portrait format.

5. I need a visa to come to Germany. What are the steps that I need to follow so I can get it?

Generally, you will need an invitation letter from the University of Cologne that states your acceptance in the conference, the dates of the conference and your personal details. Let us know if you need such a letter, and we will provide it to you as soon as possible!

6. I got a travel grant! When does the travel grant get paid?

We will send the travel grant after the conference ends. Therefore, you need to pay for the accommodation, travel expenses and conference registration by yourself, and the money will enter your bank account after the conference closes.

7. How do I get to the venue?

8. I cannot come anymore. Can I get the registration money back? If so, when?

Depending on the time when you withdraw out of the conference, you will get a different amount of money back, as explained here. The money will be sent to you after the conference ends.
