Frequently Asked Questions
1. If I am applying for a travel grant, do I have to pay to register?
Yes. If you register for the FEBS-IUBMB-ENABLE conference and plan on applying to a travel grant, you have to make the payment, as the fee is not waived for travel grant recipients. If you de-register before the 1st of November, you will receive the whole sum back after the conference ends (less administrative and platform fee ~ 4%).
2. When will I receive the certificate of attendance to the conference?
The Scientific and Local Organising Committees will send out the certificates of attendance after the conference ends. Please check regularly your emails for this, so that you don’t miss out on the certificate.
3. I got accepted as a participant, and I am coming to Singapore in December! How do I find accommodation?
The FEBS-IUBMB-ENABLE conference does not offer accommodation. However, we can offer some tips and tricks for finding a cozy spot for the length of the conference.
We would suggest booking a place as soon as possible to ensure better rates. Preferential rate has been negotiated with Aloft Singapore Novena (16 Ah Hood Rd, Singapore 329982) for delegates/speakers of this conference. To take advantage of these special rates, please make your booking through this link. The hotel is conveniently located within a 10-15 minute walk from the conference venue.
4. I got invited for a poster presentation! Are there any guidelines that I need to follow?
Yes, our poster boards will be in portrait format. We will soon share the presentation and poster guidelines in the website.
5. I got invited for a flash presentation and a poster presentation. Is this a mistake?
No! If you have been selected for a flash talk+poster this means that you have the opportunity of presenting your poster in 3 minutes. This way, you have the chance to advertise your research to more scientists. You also get to present your poster during the poster presentation session!
6. I need a visa to come to Singapore. What are the steps that I need to follow so I can get it?
You can find more details on the official website of the Singapore Government Agency by clicking here. Generally, you will need an Invitation of Introduction for Visa Application (Form V39A) from The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) that states your acceptance in the conference, the dates of the conference and your personal details. Let us know if you need such a letter, and we will provide it to you as soon as possible!
7. I got a travel grant! When does the travel grant get paid?
We will send the travel grant after the conference ends. Hotel accommodation on Twin Sharing at the Official Conference Hotel will be provided for 3 nights from 03 – 06 Dec 2024. Therefore, you will need to pay for other travel expenses and conference registration by yourself first. Registration Fee reimbursement and the remaining money payout will then be transferred to your bank account after the conference closes.
8. How do I get to the venue?
You can find more information on how to get to the conference and the gala dinner by clicking here.
9. I cannot come anymore. Can I get the registration money back? If so, when?
In the unfortunate circumstance that you cannot attend the conference after registering, please de-register by 31 October 2024, 23:59 hours (GMT+08) by sending an email to enable2024@gmail.com. The money will be sent to you after the conference ends (less administrative and platform fee ~ 4%).
10. Can I print my poster in Singapore?
Yes! You can organise the printing yourself in the print shop located close to the venue.
