Outreach activities
ENABLE will bring science closer to society through several activities aimed at school children, highschool students or adults.
Participants also have the opportunity to get involved delivering microtalks on biomedicine at different pubs and bars in the city of Copenhagen. Dedicated training is available for selected participants. Please, check out the registration site for more information!

Cross-disciplinary session
Monday 5th of November
Fake news, fake science, alternative facts: The truth is being increasingly challenged in various contexts of our society! In this panel discussion, we want to address means that can help us to distinguish facts from fake and ask how we can restore the trust in science, journalism and medicine. The discussion among the experts in their fields Prof. Eske Willerslev, Amalie Kestler and Prof. Kjeld Møller Pedersen will be lead by the successful science author Lone Frank.
The three panelists will give a brief introduction about their angle to the topic. This will be followed by a structured panel discussion, with room for questions from the audience. Afterwards, we welcome you to continue the conversation during a small and informal reception in the top of the Mærsk tower.

Ask the scientist
Tuesday 6th of November
The need for organ donations is greater than the offer, and therefore the waiting lists for a new body are long. Peter Qvortrup Geisling will lead the panel discussion, in which a number of experts discuss the reasons for the lack of organ donors and possible solutions to the problem. The technological as well as research progress will be discussed, and thoughts about emotional, ethical and political considerations will be addressed.
The participants include: Palle Serup (Professor of Stem Cell Research and Regenerative Medicine), Anja Bornø Jensen (Professor of Medical Anthropology and expert in organ donation and Public Health), Saddiq Qazi (Cardiologist and researcher in cardiac transplants), and Liselott Blixt (MP and Chairperson of the Health and Elderly Committee).

Microtalks
Wednesday 7th of November
Do you want to learn about science while having a beer? Then you shouldn’t miss this event. International students will tell you all about their research in just 10 minutes in bars across the city! An informal and interactive way to learn about the latest research advances and the first hand experience from young scientists.

Activities for schools
For children
Lab activities organized by PhDs and postdocs will engage primary school children in a fun and educational way.
For teenagers
High-school students will work alongside young scientists on pertinent scientific questions with the goal to foster critical thinking and connect with research.
