Presentation Guidelines

Poster presentation

In the two-day Scientific Symposium, there will be two poster sessions. In each session, around 100 participants will present their work while the others are free to visit the posters of their choice.

  1. Poster displays will be limited to the A0 size, in portrait format.
  2. Be sure to include the abstract title, author and co-author names, as well as the institution(s) where your research is performed.
  3. Costs associated with creating and shipping the poster are the responsibility of the authors.
  4. Pushpins will be provided to mount your poster.
  5. The designated poster presenter must be present at the assigned space during the designated time to discuss the work presented.

Flash talk

We prepared 7 flash talk sessions (each lasting 15 minutes) during the Scientific Symposium. In each session, 4 selected participants have the chance of presenting their poster in 3 minutes. This flash talk has the goal of helping you attract more participants to your poster, and helping you get more questions & ideas for your future research.

  1. Your presentation for the talk should contain the same information as your poster. Do not forget to bring your poster in physical format too – see guidelines above.
  2. No questions are allowed from the audience after the flash talks, considering that this activity is meant to encourage one-on-one interactions in the poster sessions.
  3. Please bear in mind that the audience is diverse and might have a different background.
  4. Please stick to the time limits! Otherwise, the chair will intervene.
  5. Please send the flash talk to  before the deadline (more details will be disclosed soon). We will not accept any presentations submit after the deadline.

Short talk

The Scientific Symposium includes 7 short talk sessions (each lasting 30 minutes), where 2 selected participants have the chance of presenting their research in 10 minutes.

  1. 5 additional minutes are allocated for questions and time to change presenter. Please be mindful about time constrains and stick to the limits when presenting and answering questions, otherwise the chair will intervene.
  2. Please bear in mind that the audience is diverse and might have a different background.
  3. One chair will be assigned to each session. They will keep track of time, introduce the speakers and lead the discussion at the end of each presentation.
  4. The format of your presentation should be 16:9.
  5. Please send the .ppt or .key presentation to  before the deadline (more details will be disclosed soon). We will not accept any presentations submit after the deadline.
